Gray-green paint colors are showing up everywhere in 2022, and I’m here to give you the skinny on the best ones for your home and how to choose between them all.
Just like a plain gray and greige paint colors before, these all the sage (rage, see what I did there) grayish green paint colors are considered to be neutral. Let’s talk about some of my favorites!

Gray Green Paint Colors
Like I said above, Gray green colors are beautiful neutrals. Depending on the color, grey green could encompass many things: green with grayish undertones, gray with greenish, cool and warm toned greens and grays. I’m going to discuss the different colors sorted by brand.

Sea Salt
Sea Salt is an incredibly soft green, with blue and grey undertones that works well in any room. It has an LRV of 63. Sea Salt is a light, bright and gorgeously subtle neutral.
This green gray color is a neutral can be used across your entire house, even on the ceilings, and not overwhelm. In its subtlety, it is a quite calming and serene color. Reminds of of the beach honestly.

Evergreen Fog
Evergreen Fog is one of the darker gray green paint colors and has an LRV of 30. The deep green hues of this color require lots of natural light in whatever space the color resides.
Nevertheless, it is a stunning color for any home, especially if you have greige paint colors on your walls. They compliment this green gray paint color well.
It was the 2022 Sherwin Williams Color of the Year, and a rich, beautiful color choice.
Coordinating Colors: Neutral Ground SW 7568, Dried Edamame SW 9122
Oyster Bay
Another gorgeous grey green paint color with blue undertones, is Oyster Bay. It is in the same color family as Sea Salt. With an LRV of 44, it is a shade or two darker with more gray undertones.
Coordinating Colors: Praire Grass SW 7546, Greek Villa SW 7551
Clary Sage
Clary Sage has an LRV of 41, putting it in between Oyster Bay and Sea Salt. Sage is a grey-green hue with an equal mix of colors citron and slate. Clary Sage is a medium-toned green-gray paint olive paint color with gray undertones.
This color is very close to the color on my front door.

Benjamin Moore Gray Green Paint Colors

Budding Green
Budding Green is a soft green with gray undertones that will brighten any room. Its LRV is 60. 84, making it the brightest green we have discussed so far. Looking at pictures, this color reminds me of a more muted version of the lime green duvet cover I used to have.
Coordinating Colors: Jungle Canopy CSP-900, Classic Gray, Simply White OC-117
October Mist
October Mist was chosen as Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year for 2022. Like Clary Sage, its a warm Sage color. It’s LRV is 46.33, making it a very middle of the road gray green paint color.
I think it leans a little warmer in tone and in its gray undertones. Its a very earthy color, sure to warm up any space while still remaining neutral. Perfect for a nursery.
Coordinating Colors: Glacier White OC-37, Forest Floor CC-570, Venetian Portico AF-185
Healing Aloe
Healing Aloe is another light and bright grey green paint color. It has an LRV of 68.25. This color is the brightest green color we will discuss. Like Sea Salt, it is a calming and subtle neutral, almost a pastel color. Any space would feel light, bright, and airy with Healing Aloe on the walls.
Coordinating Colors: Mocha Cream 995, Steam AF-15, Dolphin AF-715
Millstone Gray
We have discussed before how a paint color name may end in “gray” and not really be gray at all. Millstone Gray is one such color with undertones of gray, green, and blue. It has an LRV of 15.3 making it a dark, rich color.
I love this color, it is simply stunning. There is no mistaking it for a neutral, but it is a green with gray will look beautiful in your home.

Behr Grey Green Paint Colors
Here is a list of the Gray Green Paint Colors I like best from Behr and some coordinating colors for each.
Sage Grey
Sage Grey has an LRV of 36. It’s a dark color gray green, but doesn’t read too dark. It’s a close match to Evergreen Fog, but a bit brighter.
There are gray undertones in this color which make it warm. It is a well balanced color between the green and the gray, but leans more green with grey undertones.
Coordinating Colors: Vine Leaf N400-7, Chocolate Heart N170-5
Shy Green
Shy Green is a muted green gray paint color. It has the same LRV as Sea Salt, 63. Just as in the name, Shy Green is a more subdued subtle color that would make a gorgeous neutral backdrop to any room.
Coordinating Colors: Moon Glass S420-2, Unwind GR-W05, Pesto Green PPU11-05
Farrow & Ball Grey Green Paint Colors

French Gray
French Gray is definitely more gray on paper, but on the walls and in the light, the green shines through. Like Sea Salt and Healing Aloe, it offers a calm, and soothing feeling. I would also say it has slightly yellow undertones as well.
Coordinating Colors: Slipper Satin No. 2004, Railing No. 31
Green Smoke
Green Smoke is another classic gray green paint color with green and blue undertones. With an LRV of 19, it is slightly less dark than Millstone Gray. Far from a neutral, this color is dark, smokey and moody and definitely a vibe in 2022.

Final Thoughts
These gray green paint colors do vary quite a lot from color to color, but all of them would be a stunning addition to any home. The range is wide enough that if should be easy to fit a wide range of styles as well.
