Even though we are most of the way through 2022, greige paint colors are not showing any signs of slowing in popularity, specifically warm greiges. They have fully taken the place of the neutrals from past decades, and I may have also hopped on the trend!
Let’s chat about greige for a sec. What is it? Greige is a color blended from gray and beige hence “greige.” Not all greige paint colors are created equal, some lean more gray and others more beige. Some are lighter, some darker, some cooler and some warmer. We will unpack all of these attributes in these 10 popular greige colors.

Why Should I Consider Greige Paint Colors in My Home?
The term greige can encompass so many different shades and tones of paint colors that there is almost something for everyone’s taste and style preferences. It is definitely worth having a look at all of the gorgeous options.
Secondly, these neutral paint colors blend well with other neutrals and bold color choices as well. Because of the range of greige paint colors available at different paint companies, the actual paint color can be a light cool toned color all the way to a dark warm toned more brown shade.
Lastly, the popularity of greige paint colors makes it so easy to find a shade that will work with your existing paint colors in your home. I have quite a few different ones in my house that were available at popular paint retailers such as Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, and others.

Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige

Accessible Beige is a gorgeous greige color by Sherwin Williams that is actually a greige paint color. It is one of the most popular colors they have at the time of this article.
LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value which tells how much a light a color reflects.
It has an LRV of 58, which means it is a lighter color greige, but it still brings warmth to a room. Mostly beige in color with just a touch of gray, helps this color be not too cool gray or brown toned beige. It’s the perfect middle ground between the two colors which is probably why it is so popular.
I’ve done a very in depth review of Accessible Beige and Agreeable Gray, check that out!
Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray

Mindful Gray is a warm greige close on the paint scale to Repose Gray which another color considered “greige.” I chose Mindful Gray for this list because it has more beige in it. Again, making it an actual greige.
It has an LRV of 48, so a little darker than Accessible Beige. While it isn’t as bright, it still can hold light and make a room feel fresh yet warm. Greiges can be chameleon colors, and even though this is considered a darker greige, it still compliments bright neutrals and bright colors in its versatility.
Sherwin Williams Worldly Gray

Worldly Gray is a medium-toned greige color from Sherwin Williams. This color has an LRV of 57. It sits between Accessible Beige and Amazing Gray. It’s lighter than Amazing Gray and darker than Accessible Beige.
Just like most gray/beige colors, it can change depending on lighting, time of day and complimenting colors in the room.
Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray

Agreeable Gray is a warm greige paint color with purple undertones kind of like Dorian Gray, only lighter. It’s more gray than beige. It has an LRV of 60, so only slightly brighter than Accessible Beige.
This is the brightest greige paint color that we have looked at so far and it will look light and bright in a space which is one of the reasons it is a popular color. In a room with lots of natural light, the color will appear more gray. A darker room with LED bulbs can turn this color more on the beige side.

Sherwin Williams Perfect Greige

While I appreciate the name of this paint color, I do not agree with it. Perfect Greige is on the darker side of the greige family. It has an LRV of 42, a little bit darker than Mindful Gray, even though it is not really dark but more medium.
Being on the darker side, Perfect Greige is much more of a taupe color than a greige color. It is SUPER PRETTY in a space with lots of natural light. Because of the taupey tones, it can really ground a space in warmth. In darker spaces, it might be too much because of its lower ability to reflect light.
Best Greige Paint Colors by Benjamin Moore
- Edgecomb Gray
- Revere Pewter
- Gray Owl
- Pashmina
- Balboa Mist
Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray

Edgecomb Gray is one of Benjamin Moore’s most popular colors. It’s a soft toned warm greige color. I think it leans more beige than gray similar to Accessible Beige, but is lighter with an LRV of 63.
This is another one that I just love and think is a pretty perfect mixture between beige and gray. I like my greige colors to show plenty of beige, but not too much to be considered taupe or brown. The gray in this color helps the beige shine, but still be a bright and light color that adds warmth to a space.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter

Revere Pewter is another popular warm greige color. I compare this one to being a close match to Agreeable Gray. It has an LRV of 55. I would classify it as a medium toned greige.
It is warm and reflects the light in a naturally lit room, but can still look light and bright in dimly lit room as well. This greige paint color looks good almost everywhere which is why it is recommended color for staging houses.
Benjamin Moore Gray Owl

Gray Owl is more on the gray side of “greige.” With an LRV of 66, it is a gorgeous neutral, yet warm gray. Don’t let this fool you, in certain lighting, it can lean a little cool. If your space has a lot of natural light, Gray Owl will show more of a cool gray with its blue undertones peaking through.
When the room has less natural light, this color can really shine as a warm, neutral gray. It is very popular and an absolutely stunning color!
Benjamin Moore Pashmina

Pashmina (such a fun name!) is another medium-toned greige. Simply put it is not the darkest or the lightest greige paint color out there. In a room with lots of natural light, it thrives looking bright and warm and in a darker room it will be a little more dramatic and show more depth.
It has an LRV of 43, so it is on the darker side, but still able to reflect lots of light even in spaces with less natural light. A pretty versatile color that Pashmina is. (Am I Yoda?)
Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist

Balboa Mist is a light greige color. It is really similar to another stunning greige color, Pale Oak.
This is one of those colors that is really a true greige paint color. It has an LRV of 67 which is the lightest color in this greige paint color roundup. Nice and bright, it leans a little more gray where Pale Oak is a bit more beige. You can’t go wrong with choosing Balboa Mist for the walls of your home.

Lighting and Greige Paint Colors
For an East facing room, the light starts out warm and gradually gets cooler by the evening. The opposite is true for a West facing room. You want to choose paint colors based on when the room is most used. Pick based on how the lighting at that time of day best enhances your chosen paint colors.
North facing rooms make lighter colors reflect less light and darker colors more heavy. South facing rooms have intense lighting that is going to make darker colors appear brighter and lighter colors will mellow a bit.
Greige Color Palette

Anytime you are considering a paint color, coordinating colors are another thing to consider heavily. It will vary greatly depending on the actual color chosen, but for greige paint colors we can still get a general idea of shades that will look good paired together.
Greige colors pair well with other neutrals like shades of:
warm browns, creamy whites, light grays, and even black.
Greige colors pair well with other colors as well:
soft blues, dusty pinks, deep muted greens
Coming in later to edit, that I love a greige paired with a gorgeous blue gray shade.
Final Thoughts
Greige Paint Colors are stunning and a great choice for painting your home. There are so many varieties to choose from that it is pretty easy to find something for everyone. Greige is a pretty all inclusive color because it goes with almost any other color with a few exceptions.
I would choose a warm greige over anything too cool toned because they seem to be easier to find, and more versatile. What do you guys think??
